Mechanism of action

The active substance of the herbicide belongs to the triazine group. The drug is absorbed both through the root system and through the leaves of weeds. After absorption by the roots, metamitron very quickly moves to the leaf apparatus of the plant, where it blocks the process of photosynthesis.

Properties

The herbicide is used for the destruction of the following types of weeds: common sorrel, bitter gorse, bitter gorse, black sorrel, white quinoa, wild radish, common sorrel, deaf nettle, chamomile (species), midge star, lutiga (species), rutka sycamore, field sedge, violet, small-flowered cornflower, blue cornflower, incense gill, tenacious marigold, chicken millet, common sedge, mousetail foxtail, annual thin leg and others.

General recommendations

The herbicide is applied post-emergence after the germination of weeds (the phase of the broad-leaved juniper family and the 1st leaf in cereals), but without waiting for their mass appearance. The highest effect can be achieved with three applications of herbicide at the rate of 2 l/ha.

Combination of metamitron (Gladiator, 1.2 l/ha) and etofumezat (Arena, 0.6-0.8 l/ha)

will allow to increase the level of effectiveness and expand the spectrum of action of the drug, in particular, to strengthen the control of such weeds as the tenacious nightshade, blue cornflower, bitter gorse, and the most harmful annual cereals - chicken millet, mouse gray, mouse green and others.

The drug is characterized by high selectivity when applied to beet crops. Only under unfavorable conditions (frost, heat, pests) with post-emergence application, a temporary deterioration of the resistance of sugar beet plants to the herbicide is possible. With intense solar radiation and daytime temperatures above +25°C, processing should be postponed to cooler evening hours or to the morning. It is forbidden to use the herbicide on acidic soils with pH < 5.
